Une mise à jour

Work progresses on the “new” poem I found on June 3. It’s morphing as I thought it would with a few new directions presenting themselves. I still need to work out a few wordings and techniques, but at least for that the computer will help. Yes, I still hand write my drafts…..

I transcribed the second found poem. I’m not so sure it’s a poem so much as some word play. Not the same thing at all; I need to figure out where this thing belongs, even if only to be cast back into a drawer somewhere. Not dreadful by any stretch, but seeming somewhat without purpose.

Laid my hand upon a chapbook my sister had done up for me. In it is the content of a cheap publication I did for her in January 1992. I was quite surprised she had kept the writing I had given her. It’s a real snapshot in time. If I can figure out how to take a decent enough photo, I’ll post it so you can see what she had done for me a few years ago now. It was an extremely thoughtful gift. Leafing through it I find that there were generally two poles to my writing: humourous clever clever stuff or some of the grimmest contagion pretty much ever conceived in poetic form.

My sister is a deeply private person, deeply private, and she respects the privacy of others, but she has said to me recently (and my use of the word recently usually means about six years ago) that she wishes I would get back to writing. My sister is definitely in my camp; she doesn’t push. She says her piece and moves on.

I am thankful for her.

I am certainly hopeful that my revealing the fact that my sister exists doesn’t in some way invade her sphere of secrecy.
